So, hear we are again with our next Olympic event... It's the "Diving" competition, and we've given it our own little spin in our tribute to the Olympics being held in China. There is no pool involved in this competition. We decided to "dive" into something we appreciate more than pool water. There will be no shock in who wins this one...
I did a lot of yard work over the last 3 days, cleaning out and mulching some flower beds, and then I decided to create a work of art...a new front walk. I thought it would be a great idea to use natural stone. It seemed like I had a lot of it, but I didn't have any sand or stone dust. So, I got them and got this far....
Today I'll stop and get more stone, more sand and stone dust and tomorrow I'll post a photo of the finished project. RIGHT......sure. If I don't spend the afternoon napping.
We hope you are enjoying Dave and Michelle's Summer Olympics. We had a great time in our Cycling event. Some of you have asked, "What's with the helmet, Michelle?" In the Tour De France and other cycling events, the athletes always wear their bike helmet and sunglasses. So, I was hoping that if I wore them, I would have the edge in the race. Besides, it a rough world out there, and I need to protect the precious crown! You never know. It may make a cameo appearance in other events.
Well, It is time to move on to our 2nd event...Baseball! Some rain dampened our plans to show you our skills with the bat as well as with running the bases...PHEW!! In this event we shall focus on pitching! Needless to say, Josh Beckett and Dice-K have nothing to worry about. There are no Cy Young Awards in our future. By the way, no illegal substances were used in the making of this video, although Dave did get a shot of "Vitamin B12" just before his turn...hmmm.
In honor of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics kicking off today, Dave and I have decided to get in on the fun! It will come as no shock to you that our athletic abilities are far from Olympic caliber, but we are willing to test our, ahem...skills, to create our OWN version of some of the Olympic events that have become a part of the Summer Games. You won't be calling us Mary Lou Retton or Michael Phelps anytime soon, but we hope you enjoy these gold medal winning performances and maybe get a little laugh from them too! Be sure to check back every few days or so to see what new event we have tackled! Oh, and suggestions from you for events we should try are always welcome too!
