I absolutely hate cleaning the house!! I just needed to get that off my chest. Don't get me wrong, I take pride in having a relatively tidy home and always try to make sure the house is presentable should an unexpected visitor drop by. The cleanest room in my house would have to be the kitchen, believe it or not. I probably spend most of my time in there because I enjoy cooking, and with cooking comes dirty pots and pans and dishes and messy countertops and stovetops. I will not go to bed until dishes are clean (or at least in the dishwasher) and the countertops and stove need to be spotless too. The floor in the kitchen, on the other hand, could use a little more of my attention.
Maybe my lack of love for sweeping and mopping comes from my high school years working at TCBY, and the last thing we had to do before closing was making sure the entire floor was spotless...UGH!!
Of course, I'm also not a fan of the mysterious dust bunny either! How do these monsters find me everywhere I move?! Now that I have moved into a house with hardwood floors in my living and dining rooms, I have to work even harder to keep them from taking over my living space.
I can do one heck of a load of laundry, but then I just need to remember to take the extra step of actually putting the laundry away once it has been folded. The top of the bed or bureau is NOT where clean laundry goes. I need to try to remember that.
And the source of all house cleaning evil is the bathroom, of course. I won't go into detail, but I think we all know how fun cleaning a toilet or scrubbing a bath tub can be. How does this room get so dirty so fast?!
I don't want to be a slave to my house! Don't let this become you in your OWN house!!
Why can't there be a way where you could clean your ENTIRE house each day AND still have time to do all of the fun things you NEVER have time to do like slipping into a peaceful bubble bath. Well, now there is!!
The folks from REAL SIMPLE magazine have come up with the guide on how to clean your house in just 19 minutes!! 19 MINUTES??!! Sign me up.
Take a look at this...
15 seconds to clean your toilet?!! I don't think so!! Dave and I talked about this 19 minute plan on the air, and many of you called in to say there is NO WAY it works. I have tried it, and so far, the plan hasn't worked for me. See if you can give it a shot yourself, and if you can genuinely get your house clean in 19 minutes, then I would LOVE to hear from you...and then invite you to come to MY house and clean mine. :)
