Men just gotta have THIS...
We all know how much men LOVE to get in touch with their sensitive side, right?? I have been trying for the last year to get my partner Dave to try a pedicure. I am convinced that he would absolutely LOVE it...maybe even become addicted to the feeling of warm, bubbly water or hot wax massaging his tootsies. I mean who wouldn't love a little pampering?! How about a nice hot, bubble bath or curling up with a good romance novel? Alright, maybe I am getting a little out of hand. I would probably be a little weirded out if I came home from work and saw my husband bundled up under an afghan reading a book that had Fabio on the cover...OK, I would be a lot weirded out. Guys like to sprawl out on the couch with a remote in one hand and flip between Sportscenter and home improvement shows. For the most part, they DON'T like to burn candles and have a good cry.
But, that may be about to change!
Next time your husband, dad or boyfriend is celebrating a birthday, get him one of THESE...
Or next time he is headed to his buddy's house to watch "the big game," tell him to bring one of THESE...along with the nachos!
It's the ULTIMATE manly gift!!! I'll pass on the burritos...

My Wifes 25th birthday was yesterday
...and we celebrated at the Fajita Grill in Westbrook. We love the place. The food, the atmosphere and more. Well, I deserve an award.
I helped set up this intimate gathering of friends and family, no big deal there. What I deserve an award for is sitting in that restaurant for almost 5....FIVE....hours. Occasionally my butt would remind me that I needed to get up and move, but for the most part, we just sat around and talked.
I was fun. Happy birthday Jan!!
Dave
ps. I can't believe it was FIVE hours.

Reflecting on a fun moment with my best gals
I hope that all of you ladies are as lucky in life as I am, to have two wonderful women who are just the best friends a girl could ask for! Doesn't every woman (and man, for that matter) deserve to be surrounded by truly, amazing supportive people who keep you sane and grounded. My sister and matron of honor, Renee (on the left) and my girlfriend since childhood, Michelle (on the right) are just those people. I would never have been able to have THE perfect wedding day without these 2 beautiful women taking good care of me thoughout the year of planning. Both of these ladies have each been married for 11 years and have young children and are busy working women themselves, but whenever I needed them, they didn't hesitate for me. From helping me to create "save-the-date" cards, invitations, placecards and wedding programs, to throwing me a fabulous margarita-themed bridal shower, to throwing a wedding party BBQ to shopping with me for accessories to catering to my needs the night before the wedding right through the morning of the big day getting ready, they are just incredibly special women!! And when I put my first cut into a piece of Chicken Kiev from the buffet, and melted butter went spurting out like a geiser down the side of my wedding dress, Renee and Michelle were right on top of getting some club soda and were down on their knees dabbing at the yellow mess.
Thank you, Renee and Michelle, for being such a light in my life! There aren't enough words to tell you how much you mean to me! I love you!!
I hope that you who read this, have a Renee and Michelle in your life too!
We managed to capture one of many fun moments from the wedding day in this picture while we were getting ready on the wedding morning.

I'M BAAAACK, and I'm a married woman!!
I am trying to soak this all in!! This is the first time since the wedding day that I have had a chance to write some of my thoughts and really come down from the high of it all.
First of all, thanks to all of you who have called into our morning show or sent me e-mails wishing me and Dana well and congratulating us and also for sharing some of your own stories of the happiness of your own marriages. You are all so wonderful and have been so supportive listening to me talk about this past year of planning this most important day in my life. Now that it is over, I am going through a little bit of wedding planning withdrawals.
Now that I am back, many of our family and friends are starting to send us photos that they have personally taken from the wedding, so I will post some of them as they come in. Many of you have asked to see pictures, and I am thrilled that you would want me to share them. I don't think you will have any doubts, that we were both on Cloud 9 throughtout it all. All of the pictures are wonderful because it is always so great to get each person's perspective on certain wedding moments. It is great to be able to see these pictures while we wait to see the pictures from our actual photographer.
I have so much to share about the wedding day and our honeymoon, and I promise that I will take time to write about them individually as I remember each wonderful moment. Of course, some honeymoon moments will just have to remain a mystery...I can't kiss and tell. ;-)
Here are some photos to whet your appetite, and I will share more wedding fun with you tomorrow...

Michelle is back Thursday morning
and frankly, I'm a bit worried. I'm worried that she's somehow changed. You know, being married and all that. I'm sure this is just a weird part of my psyche popping in here, but I almost imagine she'll be like a Stepford Wife.
This is what makes me, ME.

VENT ABOUT PEOPLE TAKING MY MONEY!!
Okay, so I am not one to complain a whole lot, but I'm feeling a little aggravated right now over something that happened over the weekend. My husband and I wanted to buy a cheap second car just to get him back and forth to work. We thought we found the perfect car on craigs list! Last Thursday, we drove all the way from South Portland to Lewiston to check out a vehicle. Got there, liked it, wanted to buy it, but was a little hesitant because it had no sticker...Guy said, "Hey, I can get one for you today, if you wanna buy it"...We said great! We give him a deposit (at his request of $100), and writes out a promise note saying he PROMISES to get it stickered and we promise to buy it and give him the rest of the money saturday! So, the wifey isn't too happy the hubby made the promise because she didn't want to have to get it stickered but decides she will go along with it! Supposedly they were supposed to get it stickered friday, and low and behold they get pulled over and get fined and have to have the car towed home! Sooooo, no sticker! So, then we offer to buy the car a couple hundred bucks cheaper without the sticker, and she doesn't wanna do it. So, we apologize that they got caught driving without a sticker, but we'd like our deposit back due to the fact you didn't come through with the "promise". Oh NO! They want to keep it because they got caught and had to pay a fine! So, as much as we are in the right because we have this signed promise note, what do we do? Get mad, and get over it, or make a stink out of it? Guess we will get over it, because I don't think going to small claims over $100 is worth it, but I sure feel better venting about it! AND we certainly learned a valuable lesson! Don't ever give strangers from Craigs list money without the goods first! By the way, we did end up finding another vehicle for him so all was not totally lost! Carry on....
Vacation was interesting....
Busted up my foot. Not broken, the x-rays say so, but my foot says something different. Had to have my van's transmission rebuilt. Thanks Steve Stiles from Stiles Transmission for humoring me. I was a pest. Huge storm in Gorham. I'm trying to get photo's off my fancy new iPhone, but I'm not able to. Lost half of a 250 year old maple tree, thank goodness it was the half facing AWAY from the Winsor Family Farm. Lost power for a day. The biggest news was that Budweiser is being sold to some foreign company! WHAT? The King Of Beers sold? Horrible....just horrible.
More to come.

Got it: That is my "poor man's Marriott" in my dooryard. That's the branch that hit it, and blocked the street.

Back from Vacation!!
Well, the week always goes by fast when you are on vacation doesn't it? However, when I am on vacation, I am ALWAYS glad to be back!! Why is that? My friends always laugh at me when I tell them I am always ready to come back to work, and they they say, it's because I love my job! And you know what? They are right! I guess I always knew I loved my job, but don't realize it until I am not here! Anyways, all went well, my mommy (yes, I am 35 as of last week and still call her mommy!) came in from Ohio and spent some time with me and my husband and Savannah! it was fun! She never gets away that often so it's kind of funny when she does and how the little things amaze her, like airplanes in the sky, the ocean, ect..Serious guys, she never sees that stuff where she lives! So, yes, I am back, and hopefully you missed me, cuz i sure missed being on the air!! Tootles for now!!

Dinner in a storm
My wife Janice and I decided NOT to cook dinner last night because it was too HOT and HUMID. So off to Applebee's in Windham. We got in before the big storm hit. Dinner and a cold beer were served while the lights flickered and the rain came down sideways. I think it could have been romantic had the lights gone off....THAT and we wouldn't have to pay. But no dice.
